OREANDA-NEWS. March 02, 2011. Strong sales of the MDX luxury sport utility vehicle, RDX crossover SUV, TSX sport sedan and TL performance luxury sedan led Acura to February sales of 10,796 units, up 20.8 percent versus last February based on daily selling rate (DSR)*. These results helped Acura to achieve the thirteenth consecutive month of posting double-digit sales increases. Acura year-to-date sales reached 18,757 units, posting an increase of 16.7 percent over 2010 sales.

Acura light trucks reached sales of 5,387 units in February. The MDX led February sales with 3,845 units sold, providing an increase of 17.7 percent versus last February, while the RDX sold 1,344 units, up 58.1 percent from last February. Acura car sales totaled 2,447 units, led by the continued momentum of the refreshed TSX sport sedan and recently introduced TSX Sport Wagon. The TSX sedan and TSX Sport Wagon combined monthly sales increased 31.6 percent to 2,794 compared to last year.

"The Acura MDX, RDX and TSX are really connecting with the needs of our buyers," said Jeff Conrad, vice president, Acura sales. "We want to offer the right combination of performance, utility and style in our vehicles, and the introduction of the new TSX Sport Wagon helps us achieve just that."

The Acura TL performance luxury sedan was the division's second-best selling sedan, posting monthly sales of 2,447 units, representing an increase of 1.5 percent, while the ZDX four-door sports coupe surpassed last February's sales by 24.5 percent.
