OREANDA-NEWS. March 1, 2011. Net foreign assets of the Belarusian government and National Bank of Belarus (NBB) amounted to USD 3.171 billion as of February 1, 2011, down 10.7% in January, the National Bank of Belarus told.

The increase was due to a decrease in gross foreign assets by 9.6% in January to USD 4.912 billion and a 7.4% reduction in liabilities to USD 1.741 billion as of February 1, 2011.

Net foreign assets placed in hard currency amounted to USD 3.034 billion as of February 1, 2011, while soft currency assets were at the equivalent of USD 136.9 million.

In 2010, Belarus’ net foreign assets decreased 27.6% to USD 3.551 billion.
