OREANDA-NEWS. March 01, 2011. The American company TEC Power plans to invest USD 120 million in construction of the large thermal power plant in Moldova. It was said during the meeting in Chisinau of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Moldova Valerii Lazar with the US Ambassador in Moldova Asif Chaundry, it was informed at the Ministry of Economy.

It was said that the opportunity of building of the thermal power plant in Moldova would be examined by a special work group of the Ministry’s specialists. The capacities of the thermal power plant considered to be built have not been given.

The American Ambassador noted the USA’s readiness to help Moldova implement energy projects to realize sustainable energy projects and enhance the country’s energy security.
