OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2011. An indoor soccer tournament devoted to the 20th anniversary of Stroytransgaz took place on February 19. Teams of LUKOIL Overseas, Gazprom Neft, Gazprombank, FGC UES, INTER RAO UES, Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation and Stroytransgaz took part in the tournament. 

Mr. Vsevolod Kusov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Stroytransgaz, made an opening speech and emphasized that corporate football matches strengthen partnership. He thanked participants for coming and wished players a fair game.

The tournament had Golden and Silver Playoffs. Gazprombank team won the Golden Playoff; INTER RAO UES and LUKOIL Overseas took the second and third places respectively. Gazprom Neft team won the Silver Playoff, Stroytransgaz-1 took the second place and Stroytransgaz-2 was the third. Teams of FGC UES and Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications got consolation prizes.

The tournament high spot was a semifinal match between INTER RAO UES and LUKOIL Overseas. After the tie, INTER RAO UES won a breathtaking penalty shootout 5-4.

In the “Best of the Best” category the winners were Vasily Maidansky of LUKOIL Overseas (the Best Fullback), Mikhail Kolodintsev of INTER RAO UES (the Best Goalkeeper), Alexander Murilkin of Gazprom Neft (the Best Forward), Alexander Savenkov of Gazprombank (the Best Player). The team of Stroytransgaz supporters was named the best of the audience.

We should thank sportsmen and supporters who made Stroytransgaz tournament a competition with the highest level of technical skills and attitude to victory.
