OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2011. Government supported the initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure to double the amount of insurance payment for compulsory personal accident insurance on transport. The decision set forth by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 23, 2011, No. 146 "On amendments to the Regulation on compulsory personal accident insurance on transport".

Therefore, the amount for each insured person increased from 3000 to 6000 non-taxable payments: from 51 thousand to 102 thousands UAH.

Insurance covers the passenger of rail, sea, inland waterway, road and electric (except internal city) during the trip or stay at the station.

The insurance rate for compulsory personal insurance for drivers on the rail, road and electric transport amounts to 0.18% of the sum for each insured.

Note that making this decision the Government brought the sum for insurance against accidents in the transport sector in line with the level corresponding to current realities on the cost of medical care (rehabilitation) of victims, victims’ funeral, financial compensation in connection with an accident and accidents on transport.
