OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2011. The ceremony of closing the V commodity exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Turkmen-Iranian business forum took place at the Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat. The three-day economic forum provided numerous guests and participants with an opportunity to receive the first-hand information about a wide spectrum of commodities and equipment presented by leading Iranian companies in the large-scale exposition. This exposition vividly illustrates the tremendous potential of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation and the willingness of the business circles of the two neighbouring countries bound with economic ties and traditionally good neighbourly relations, which have enhanced significantly in recent years, to expand it.

Turkmenistan takes consistent efforts to enhance its economic strength that is promoted by wide application of innovations, the resource potential and large-scale reforms taking place in all spheres of life. This arouses keen interest of foreign partners who seek to operate in the very promising Turkmen market and offer their advanced technologies and innovations that was fully illustrated by the Iranian economic exposition. The thematic sections of the exposition presented manufacturing equipment, household appliances, building materials, food products, textiles and household chemicals. This exposition was of keen interest to experts, marketing specialists, citizens and guests of the Turkmen capital.

A notable event of the economic exposition was the Turkmen-Iranian business forum, which provided the platform for exchanging views between leading specialists of various sectors, businessmen and commodity producers on the prospects for collaboration between the two neighbouring states which fostered partnerships in the economic sector. Forum participants evaluated highly the results of effective practice of cooperation and specified new horizons of mutually advantageous partnership during the business talks.

The exhibition and business forum in the Turkmen capital certainly made a particular contribution to developing international business contacts and became a new step to facilitate Turkmenistan’s integration into the global economy. Fruitful meetings, project presentations and proposals for cooperation, exchange of views and discussions during this economic forum would turn into new contracts and enhance mutually advantageous economic ties between the two states in the near future.

Diplomas and certificates were presented to forum participants during the closing ceremony.

Participants of the V commodity exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Turkmen-Iranian business forum adopted the Address to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed gratitude to the Turkmen leader for hospitality extended in the Turkmen land, the high level of organisation of the economic forum and wide support for bilateral cooperation.
