OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2011. Kazakhtelecom holds a regular annual meeting on Y2010 results with directors of branches, subsidiaries and foreign representative offices participating, reported the press-centre of KASE.

Kazakhtelecom actively implemented infrastructural projects and introduced new technologies in 2010; the telephone density per 100 country residents reached 23.16 numbers, including - 30.72 in cities and 14.08 - in the countryside.

As of January 1, 2011 the local telecommunications network of Kazakhtelecom was represented by 5,144 commutation switchboards (hereinafter - CS), including 3,002 ATS, 1, 584 blocks of multi-service subscriber access (MSA, IP-MSA), over 540 base Wi-Fi stations, including 2,907 CS in the rural telephone network (hereinafter - RTN). The number of CSs increased by 159 units in 2010.

Currently, the number of digital CSs makes up 4,430, including 2,195 used in the city telephone network (CTN) and 2,235 used in RTN. The total mounted intake of the network makes up 4.18 million numbers, including 3.05 million numbers in CTN, 1.13 million numbers in RTN. The mounted intake of digital CSs makes up 3.9 million numbers and 1.04 thousand numbers - in RTN. By the year's results the level of digitalization with regard to the mounted number intake made up 92.8%. In CTN it equaled to 92.96%, in RTN - 92.5%.

The number of fixed lines as of January 1, 2011 made up 3,802,916 units, including those in CTN - 2,753,416 units, in RTN - 1,049,500 units. The mounted intake of the equipment for broad-band access to the Internet makes up over 938 thousand ports, with over 776 thousand currently in use.

The length of intercity channels makes up 601,059.9 channel/km, including digital transmission systems' channels - 571,962.36 thousand channel/km (95% of the total length of telephone channels); the length of lines with optical cables made up 550,735.47 thousand channel/km (92% of the total length of telephone channels).
