OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2011.   In February 2011, a team of law students from the Belarusian State University supported by SORAINEN Belarus participated in the 6th International Commercial Mediation Competition organized by the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris. For the 6th consecutive year, ICC held this prestigious event in its headquarters and selected venues in the French capital, including the offices of Hogan Lovells, White & Case, Clifford Chance, and Jones Day, reported the press-centre of SORAINEN.

The International Commercial Mediation Competition is an annual moot competition where universities from around the world test their mediation skills in a one-of-a-kind event before distinguished panels of judges. The competition consists of two parts: written and oral advocacy. Competitors, acting as counsel and client in mock mediation sessions, resolve problems devised by international mediation experts. This year problems were mainly focused on distribution and trade, corporate and IP disputes.

SORAINEN Belarus gave total support to students during their half a year preparation for the competition, while partner and head of the Dispute Resolution Practice Alexey Anischenko coached the team. SORAINEN Belarus is delighted to empower students to improve both practical and educational legal skills and contribute to further development of mediation as an alternative means to litigation dispute settlement.
