OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2011. According to the current data, in 2010 the generating companies of -Holding produced 61.75 billion kWh of electric power and 119.8 million Gcal of heat. As compared to 2009, heat production went up 0.99% and electric power production went down 2.2%.

According to experts of the Trading Division, the year 2010 was characterized by a gradual restoration of demand for heat and electric power. However, an increase in power consumption in the integrated power system of the Urals and Center in 2010 was covered primarily by major state district power plants (SDPP) whose production expenses are lower than those of combined heat and power plants. This mostly affected production by TGC-9 due to competition from major state district power plants in the region: Surgut SDPP-1 and Surgut SDPP-2, Nizhnevartovsk SDPP, Perm SDPP, Reftinsk SDPP and Karmanovsk SDPP. Due to similar reasons there was a drop in energy production by TGC-5 and TGC-6 as compared to 2009.

Production by Volga TGC is practically the same as last year. The power generating facilities of the company are located in the integrated power system of the mid-Volga region where water supply shortage resulted in a lower load of hydro power plants.

An increase in heat production by IES companies was primarily accounted for by the cold winter of 2009-2010. In the last heating season air temperature in European Russia was significantly lower than in 2008-2009 and the climate normal. There was also an increase in steam consumption by industrial customers.
