Exercise of Ibovespa Options Generates BRL 2.47 Billion on BM&FBOVESPA
OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2011. The exercise of Bovespa Index (Ibovespa) options generated BRL 2.47 billion on Wednesday, with 36,320 contracts traded. Of this financial volume, BRL 1.48 billion was in put options and BRL 991.70 million was in call options.
The contracts with the heaviest volumes during the exercise were:
The series at 68,000 points turned over BRL 707.2 million in put options;
The series at 70,000 points turned over BRL 578.2 million in put options;
The series at 67,000 points turned over BRL 556.1 million in call options;
The series at 66,000 points turned over BRL 435.6 million in call options;
The series at a 72,000 points turned over BRL 93.6 million in put options.
Expiration of the Ibovespa Futures Contract
In the BM&F segment it was the last day of trading in the February 2011 Ibovespa Futures contract (G11). There were 29,905 contracts traded in this maturity, at a financial volume of BRL 2 billion. The settlement price in index points was 67,274.000. There were 115,460 contracts traded in the four maturities of Ibovespa Futures contracts on Wednesday, and financial volume was BRL 7.81 billion.
