OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2011. Ukraine has enough grain reserves to meet the needs of the population in the flour to the fullest. The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Vadym Kopylov stated this briefing.

He is convinced that the stocks of grain and flour in Ukraine today preclude the problems on selling this product in retail outlets.

"Thanks to measures taken by the Government earlier, grain, thank God, in Ukraine is enough. Moreover, we have grain and flour not just enough, but above all the norms", Vadym Kopylov said, commenting the fact that the flour is in deficit in stores.

According to him, this situation can be explained solely by artificial excitement and desire to make enormous profits: "It's excitement, nothing more. Today we have the pursuers to gain excess profits".

As Vadym Kopylov explained, due to introduction of quotas for grain export, the price of this product at the domestic market is two times lower than at the foreign one. Thus sufficient grain stocks are collected for domestic consumption. "Until new harvest there is enough grain. I state that there can be no problems with flour in 2011 in Ukraine in general, because all the resources are enough", the First Deputy Minister said. However, he stressed that the profitability of grain on the domestic price today is high enough, it covers not only the costs but also gives a high level of profit.

Vadym Kopylov recalled that the Prime Minister has charged the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, and State Reserve to streamline the work on the internal market with adequate amounts of flour: "Grain is enough, flour making capacity is enough, so there will be no trouble with flour".
