OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2011. Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine propose to amend the bill on pension reform with a number of changes that were acquired as a result of public discussion of pension reform. The Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Serhiy Tigipko said that today during the parliamentary hearings "Status of pension reform and ways to improvement".

In particular, according to Serhiy Tigipko a proposal will be put forward to limit the maximum level of pension benefits not by 12, as was suggested earlier, but by 10 costs of living.

"In addition, during all the meetings people said: why that rule applies only to newly appointed pensions? Spread the norm to all the pensioners, since Article 24 of the Constitution of Ukraine says about equal opportunities for all Ukrainian people" - the official stressed.

According to Serhiy Tigipko, these proposals were considered by the working group and approved by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.
