OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2011. Industrial production in Russia added on 6.8% y-o-y in 1M2011, Rosstat reported. For reference, the performance in January 2011 was more upbeat, as industrial production jumped by 7.8%, but this was after the January 2010 low base, when it dropped 16%.

Discarding seasonal and calendar factors, industrial production increased by 0.4% on the preceding month, compared with 0.6% in December 2010 and 0.8% in January 2010. The PMI index reflected a record upturn in sales and purchase prices since July 2008, and according to the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy, price performance in January hit a 15-year peak.
