On February 12 and 13 the Russia Cup Alpine ski stage will be held. The men’s competitions are planned for February 15-18, and the women’s are scheduled for February 22-26.

The Rosa Khutor mountain ski complex is a combined facility for competitions in all Alpine ski disciplines: speed skiing, speed skiing with slalom, super-giant slalom, giant slalom. The tracks were designed under the supervision of Bernard Roussy, the vice president of the FIS Alpine Committee.

A specific feature of the center is a unique finish zone for all the Alpine ski disciplines, as well as the Olympic speed skiing track with altitude variation of over 1,000 meters, and with six jumping hills with “flight zones” of up to 70 meters. This is for now the only track in Russia that is certified by the International Ski Federation.

6 tracks are functioning at the Rosa Khutor resort in this season already, both athletic and tourist; the cableways, the artificial snow systems, six meteorological stations are in operation; the anti-avalanche service’s supervision point is arranged; additional cableways are being built. In the framework of the preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, the Alpine Center “Roza Khutor” provides for the construction, in addition to the Alpine ski center, of a snowboard park, a freestyle center, and a mountain Olympic Village. In February 2012 and February 2012 the next test competitions – the Alpine ski World Cup stages – will take place at the Alpine Center “Rosa Khutor”.

The next Olympic venue that will host the test competition as early as in December of the current year is the combined skiing and biathlon complex, which is presently under construction on the Psekhako Ridge at an altitude of 1,450 meters.
