OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2011. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 7% on the year in January-December to 2.459 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee stated.

Steel output increased 9.1% on the year to 2.671 million tonnes, and steel pipe output was up 70% on the year to 177,100 tonnes in the period. Standard quality wire output rose 29.7% on the year to 292,600 tonnes in the period, and steel wire output rose 60% to 76,800 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 92,900 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 34.7% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 16% on the year to 5.809 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-December 2010.
