Negative Balance of Trade of Moldova with CIS Down 2,9%
OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2011. The negative balance of trade of Moldova with CIS countries in 2010 totaled USD 632.7 million, down 2.9% from 2009. Particularly, Moldova increased exports to the Commonwealth states by 27.3% in 2010 – to USD 624.2 million, while imports from the CIS states grew 10.1% - to USD 1,256.9 million.
The share of CIS countries in the total Moldova exports in 2010 increased from 38.1% in 2009 to 39.4% in 2010, and their share in the total Moldovan imports reduced from 34.8% to 32.6%. The most part of the Moldovan export among the CIS states fell to the share of Russia - USD 404.2 million (a 41.1% growth against the level of 2009).
It was followed by Ukraine - USD 91.6 million (+12.6%), Belarus - USD 80.3 million (-0.5%), Kazakhstan - USD 30.5 million (+15.5%), Azerbaijan - USD 7.5 million (+98.5%), Uzbekistan - USD 4.4 million (-32.5%). Russia accounted for the biggest volumes of imports to Moldova from the CIS states in 2010 - USD 586.5 million (+56,6%). It was followed by Ukraine - USD 528.5 million (+15.2%), Belarus - USD 119.1 million (-13.3%), Kazakhstan - USD 15.8 million (-80.6%).
