SEB Bank Completed Information Systems Integration
OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2011. SEB Bank has completed the second and final stage of the payment cards information systems integration into the core banking information system. After the improvement of its IT systems, the bank has provided more possibilities to debit card holders. Currently, the bank’s services are provided as usual; however, some temporal disturbances in using the bank’s services may occur, reported the press-centre of SEB.
“Owing to the integration of these systems, debit cards have been related with bank accounts and debit card holders can accomplish the same banking transactions as they would be able to accomplish if they had a bank account. When performing the systems integration and improvement works, we strived for this very purpose: to offer the most of the attractive services to all bank customers”, said Ausra Matuseviciene, Executive Vice President of SEB Bank, Head of Business Support Division and Chief Finance Officer.
By improving its IT systems and services SEB Bank strives to provide more possibilities to debit card holders. From now on debit cards are linked with the bank accounts, which enables:
Link of several debit cards (e.g., cards held by family member), with one bank account,
Immediate use of the funds transferred to the account which is linked to the debit card, because the funds transferred from other accounts of SEB Bank will be promptly debited,
Continuity of direct debit, if a debit card is lost or blocked. If a customer uses automated expense payment service, e.g. direct debit or regular payment, funds will be retained in case of a card loss, because they will be credited to the bank account. The customer will only have to visit the branch of SEB Bank to get a new debit card,
Receive payments in other currencies, even though a debit card account is in the Litas, because the bank account linked to the debit card is a multi-currency account: it is credited with the original transfer currency without automatic conversion. This way a customer has an option of exchange or accumulation of funds in the credited currency or may select the time to perform the currency exchange at his or her convenience. However, for payment by card a customer will be able to use funds in the account only in the Litas, whereas for payments in any other currency credited to the account the currency will have to be exchanged in the Litas.
After final integration of the systems, a new version of the General Service Rules of SEB Bank enters into force on 6 February 2011. New version of the Rules is available at bank’s website www.seb.lt as well as at the bank’s branches.
All SEB Bank card account agreements executed with the bank's debit card holders as well as debit card service fees and card account handling fees and charges remain unchanged and effective. No changes are made in the bank account numbers of card numbers; therefore, customers do not have to make any amendments or changes.
