China Boosts Copper, Iron Ore and Crude Imports in January, 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2011. Imports of copper, iron ore and crude oil to China increased in January 2011. In particular, copper imports advanced by 5.7% from December and by 25% from January 2010, up to 364,240 tons. Iron ore imports surged by 19% compared to December.
Steel product imports jumped by 8.2% y-o-y and by 9.5% compared to December, up to 3.12 mn tons. Oil imports reached a peak value for the past 4 months and totaled 21.5 mn tons, or 5.1 mn bpd.
