Instead of the former warehouses Nr. 9 and 10 on the territory of the Second Stevedoring Company the modernization of the open storage grounds for the general cargoes is going. About 210 mln. rubles in 2010 were transferred for renovation, maintenance and scheduled repairs of handling equipment fleet.

In particular, in order to increase the speed of discharge of the vessels at the terminals of the group, operating in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg, the company awarded the contracts for delivery of lift-trucks “Kalmar” with the lifting capacity from 10 up to 33 tons, terminal tractors and 40’ roll-trailers with the lifting capacity of 70 tons in 2010.  In 2010 2 bucket loaders “Komatsu” and fork-lift truck “Nissan” with the lifting capacity 2.5 tons were delivered for Multipurpose Reloading Complex in Ust-Luga. About 3 mln. rubles were transferred for the modernization of the transport infrastructure of the port – design works for the reconstruction of the “Gapsalskie Gates” and construction of new gate-out facing Dvinskaya street were completed. Implementation of this project will make it possible to settle the issue related to the limited number of access roads to the 1st and the 2nd areas of the Sea Port and decrease the environmental burden on the residential areas adjacent to the port.
