Koks Signed Contract with British Company Dosco
OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2011. Koks has signed a contract with the British company “Dosco” to supply two MK2BP combines for the Butovskaya mine, which is planned for launch in August 2012. This new technology awaits two other companies in the Koks group as well. Five Komatsu HD 785-7 dump trucks will soon arrive at Uchastok Koksovy.
Since work in the mining conditions at Butovskaya can only be handled by the most powerful technology—mid-weight selective-heading combines of less than 50 tonnes—the choice was limited to such combines as the Sandvik MR-340 (Austria), the Dosco MK2BP (England), the SANY EBZ200 (China), and the Ukrainian combines KSP-35 and P220-01. After a painstaking study of the technical and commercial proposals of these companies, the choice was made in favor of the English manufacturer Dosco.
Their combines are equipped with a dual-speed transmission and are ideal for work in difficult mining conditions. The Dosco service center and replacement-part warehouse are located in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky, which will significantly simplify the process of testing and commissioning, operation and servicing the combines. As for the purchase of new technology for Uchastok Koksovy, Komatsu HD 785-7 (referred to as HD 785-5 until 2009) dump trucks with a capacity of 91 tonnes were chosen for work on the plot to recultivate disturbed soils.
Since 2007, these dump trucks have been used successfully at Kuzbass's coal companies. Based on responses from coal company representatives, they are prized both for their actual cargo turnover and their other performance indicators. Under a demanding cargo turnover, these dump trucks excel with their low accident rate, modest fuel consumption per unit, and a series of other advantages. Five Komatsu HD 785-7 dump trucks will be purchased for work at Uchastok Koksovy.
