China Establishes Rare-Earth, Iron Ore Planning Areas
OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2011. The Ministry of Land and Resources has decided to set up a national planning area for rare earth resource covering more than 2,500 square kilometers in Ganzhou, Jiangxi while establishing a 460-square-kilometer plus planning zone for iron ore in the Panxi region of Sichuan that consists of the Panzhihu Iron Mine and the Baima Iron Mine.
The Ganzhou rare earth planning zone will comprise 11 plots for prospecting, mining and forward ore-forming purposes with a potential reserve of 760,000 tons.
