IBS Offers New DataFort Service
OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2011. IBS Company and IBS DataFort outsourcing service provider presented their new service: lease of healthcare information systems. IBS in partnership with leading suppliers of solutions for healthcare organizations adapted existing well-proven healthcare information systems (MIS) for working in Infrastructure as a Service (IааS) model based on IBS DataFort Company data centers, reported the press-centre of IBS.
One of the main reasons hindering the development of MIS in Russian clinics and hospitals relates to considerable volume of initial investments and time required for its implementation and adaptation. Receiving information services under IaaS model will allow healthcare institutions to cut the capital investments for implementation of up-to-date IT tools in their daily activities and reduce management risks.
Ready-made solutions were demonstrated for the first time at “Healthcare 2010” 20th International Fair conducted at early December and raised keen interest among representatives of medical and preventive treatment institution.
New services are based on solutions developed by IBS jointly with IBS DataFort, AXIMED and Kurs-АС1 companies. Currently information services are offered on the basis of two systems:
Healthcare Information System AKSi-clinic, maintaining electronic case records (electronic healthcare cards), and
Remote Healthcare Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), working with large images (healthcare information, laboratory investigations, healthcare images).
Based on information services provided, healthcare institutions are able to plan healthcare activities taking into account status and availability of personnel, offices, hospital stock and healthcare equipment. Diagnosticians are provided with single workplace integrating work functions with information about patients, case records, research results (including work with healthcare images) and other necessary information.
System operates using sharable computer power of IBS DataFort data centers and leasing necessary server equipment and workplaces for healthcare personnel. Depending on customer’s needs, outsourcing services for MIS technical support as well as separate call center operations can be offered.
“Such approach release healthcare institutions from the need of purchasing server and network equipment, system and dedicated software, arranging communication channels, maintaining own IT support service. Everything is provided as a service, and only workplaces used and actual volume of data stored are to be paid”, – in such a way IBS DataFort Director General Denis Kalinin described advantages of IaaS model.
At customer’s option, the MIS which is already in use or is to be implemented can be transferred to IaaS model. In the long view a range of partner solutions is planned to be expanded, including those provided as SaaS (Software as a Service).
Broadening of base functions of applied SW is made by specialists of IBS Company which is a member of international organization Health Level 7 International (HL7). HL7 is engaged in development of standard of exchange of clinic and administration data between healthcare computer applications and provides its members the access to the latest developments in the field of information exchange and MIS integration.
