TATNEFT Retains Leading Positions in Wells Mean Time between Failures
OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2011. TATNEFT continues to maintain one of the highest MTBF (mean time between failures) intervals among large enterprises of the oil industry in Russia. The MTBF value in the Company reached 1041 days by early 2011, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.
The increase of the wells mean time between failures has been achieved through application of innovative technologies, introduction of modern equipment and improving the quality of repair operations at the wells.
The number of well workover operations decreased by 3.6 percent in 2010 and this allowed increasing the mean time between failures of the wells by 3 percent. Over the past 10 years the wells workover interval has increased in the Company almost twofold.
For oilmen the increase of the mean time between failures operation means further increase in the period of trouble-free operation of equipment, reducing downtime of wells awaiting the workover, reducing the cost of maintaining the well stock in a serviceable condition. This leads to significant saving of the Company's costs and resources.
Today, the specialists of TATNEFT working in close cooperation with the colleagues from the management service companies face the challenge of further increasing this figure to the level of leading international companies.
