OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2011. In January 2011, oil production under the Uvat projected reached 428,000 tonnes, which was 24.6% up on January last year, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

According to Yuri Masalkin, General Director of TNK-BP subsidiary LLC TNK-Uvat, development drilling in January amounted to 24,624 metres - 44% higher than a year ago. Appraisal drilling increased by more than three times to 2,860 m.

“We are currently completing our deepest 2011 appraisal well - R-210 (3,000 metres) at the Tyamkinskoe field”, said Masalkin. “So far we’ve drilled 2,938 m”.

TNK-Uvat’s 2011 business envisages a further increase in production at Uvat to 5.9 mt.

“This year we will be drilling 16 appraisal wells, shooting 2,500 square kilometers of 2D seismic and 700 square kilometers of 3D seismic. In addition, we are planning to bring 96 wells on stream by the end of the year”, noted Masalkin.
