RTS Released Stock Market January 31 - February 4 Trading Results
OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2011. Over the week of January 31 - February 4, 2011, the RTS Index went up by 2.28% to reach 1,928.58 points (1,885.53 points as of January 28, 2011). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (plus 23.13 points) followed by ordinary shares of JSC “LUKOIL” (LKOHS) (plus 18.71 points) and Rosneft (ROSNS) (plus 4.04 points).
The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 1.38% to reach 12,102.33 points (11,937.63 points as of January 28, 2011). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 0.44% closing at 2,321.56 points (2,311.34 points as of January 28, 2011).
Last week’s growth on the stock market was accompanied by a decrease of volatility levels when the Russian Volatility Index RTSVX went down by 2.03% to reach 24.29 points (24.80 points as of January 28, 2011).
Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index adding 5.52%. A significant increase was also shown by the telecommunication sector, with the RTS Telecom Index going up by 2.23%. The largest decline was demonstrated by the financial sector, with the RTS Finances Index lost 1.78%.
The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, dropped 1.22%.
Last week the US dollar depreciated by 1.09% against the ruble to reach 29.35 rubles per US dollar (29.67 rubles as of January 28, 2011).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of January 31 - February 4, 2011 equaled USD12.75 billion (377.18 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,674.74 million.
The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,426.79 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD574.85 million and ordinary shares of JSC “LUKOIL” (LKOH) with a turnover of USD251.02 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 52.3%, 21.1% and 9.2% respectively.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of JSOC Bashneft (BANE) that went up by 7.05% to USD47.85 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "Pharmacy Chain 36.6" (APTK) – by 6.67% to USD3.68 and Tatneft (TATN) – by 5.65% to reach USD5.8.
The week's top losers were ordinary shares of PIK Group (PIKK) that fell 4.65% to reach USD4.1 followed by ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBER) that lost 3.78% to reach USD3.49 and JSC Chelpipe (CHEP) that lost 2.94% to reach USD3.3.
