Inflation in Moldova Made 1,1% in January 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2011. Particularly, food prices grew 2.5%, prices for nonfoods grew 0.4%, and tariffs for services rendered to the population – 0.3%, according to the National Statistics Bureau.
The biggest rise in prices in January among foodstuffs was seen by potato – by 14.7%, grapes – 11.9%, fresh vegetables – 8.3%. Diet eggs rose in price by 7.8%, sugar – by 5.4%, fresh fruit – 4.5%. At the same time, prices for the citrus reduced by 1.1%, fat – 1.5%, rice – 11.1%.
The biggest rise in prices among the nonfoods was seen by the fuel – 3.3%. Prices for winter children’s shoes increased 3%, spare parts – 1.5%, newspapers and magazines – 1.2%. At the same time, prices decreased for medication – by 3%.
The cost of TV sets, laundry washers, dishwashing machines, perfumes and make-up reduced by 0.5%. Kindergarten fees rose 2.2%, prices for international, rail-, air traffic and medical equipment increased 1.5%. The inflation rate for the last 12 months in Moldova (from January 2010 till January 2011) was 6.7%.
