OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2011. Key cellular operator of Azerbaijan Azercell Telecom intends to increase its market share in 2011.

Azercell Telecom’s general director Ali Agan has reported that increase of penetration level of mobile services in Azerbaijan up to 100% slows down the process of appearance of new clients in mobile operators’ nets as each country resident has one or more mobile phones now.

"I will not disclose specific figures but we are forecasting an increase in the number of subscribers in our net and growth of market share of mobile communication services in Azerbaijan. At that we expect increase in the number of subscribers both in the capital and regions. In this connection we are preparing new, more rational tariff packages for regional subscribers, taking into account purchasing power and macroeconomic indices of regions and their residents",- A. Agan noted.

Presently under the company’s estimations its market share makes 54%.
