OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2011. SOCAR Ecology Department goes on successful cooperation with the international organizations within large-scale activities conducted in environmental protection and provision of ecological balance in fields and other objects. Recently delegation led by Jan Olsson, Head of Economic and Environmental Unit of OSCE Office in Baku, visited SOCAR Ecology Department.

The guests were informed on a wide range of SOCAR-implemented environmental projects and discussed ecological monitoring, evaluation of environmental status, waste management, and other projects. Besides, the participants watched the video featuring the construction of Ecological Park in Khatai district of Baku. The guests showed big interest in measures to be taken for utilizing the alternative energy source and increasing knowledge about environment.

They held discussions on “Activities Plan” of Ecological Center being constructed in the park. Mr. Jan Olsson, Head of Economic and Environmental Unit of OSCE Office in Baku, said they were interested in cooperation with SOCAR Ecology Department to facilitate the Ecological Park project. He praised the environmental events implemented in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the sides discussed possible cooperation perspectives and joint operation directions.
