OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2011. Azerbaijan-Lithuania Business Forum held on February 9 in Baku Business Centre within the framework of the visit of the Speaker of Lithuanian Sejmas Mrs. Irena Degutienл. More than 20 Lithuanian businessmen from agriculture, food industry, energy, telecommunications, construction and education sectors came together with more than 60 Azerbaijani counterparts.

Speaking at the conference the Speaker of Milli Majlis Mr. Oqtay Asadov and the Speaker of Lithuanian Sejmas Mrs. Irena Degutienл emphasized the importance of existing economic relations and cooperation opportunities between the two countries, the steps already taken and the importance of such events as business forums, meetings in the development of these relations.

The official part continued with presentations by AZPROMO head Mr. Adil Mammadov, Deputy Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company Mr. Rovshan Najaf as well as representative from Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Regimantas Yablonskas. Short films on Azerbaijan and Lithuania were demonstrated during the forum.

The following Memorandums of Understanding were signed during the forum:
•Between Lithuanian Business Confederation and National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan
•Vilnius University and Cybernetics Institute under National Academy of Sciences
•Lithuanian “Inta” company and Azerbaijani “Cyber LTD” Company.
