OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2011. 2670 apartments with the total area of 348.4 thousand square meters were brought into operation in 2010 in Moldova, down 22% against 2009. Last year, resident houses were built mostly by economic agents of the private sector – 87.9% of the total volume of dwelling brought into operation, according to the National Statistics Bureau’s data. 1650 apartments of the total area of 254.8 thousand square meters were brought into operation last year in Moldova at the expense of individual builders, up 3.1% against 2009.

It made up 73.1% of the total volume of dwelling brought into operation in the country. The biggest share of dwelling – 2045 apartments of the total area of 273.6 thousand square meters (78.5% of the total volume) was put into operation in towns.

The volume of dwelling put into operation in towns reduced by 27.3% I 2010 in comparison with the previous year. Its share in the total volume of dwelling put into operation throughout the country reduced by 6.7 percentage points. According to the statistics, most dwelling was put into operation in the Chisinau municipality – 1667 apartments of the total area of 239.4 thousand square meters.

It constituted 68.7% of the total area of houses put into operation in 2010. The volume of dwelling brought into operation in the Chisinau municipality in 2010 reduced by 25.3% in comparison with 2009, its share in the total volume of dwelling throughout the country down 6.5 p.p.
