OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2011. Prevention of fraud and falsification of insurance policies is one of the most important tasks of the insurance market of Moldova. It was said during the “round table” on insurance organized by the Association of insurance companies and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, held in the framework of the Made in Moldova exhibition, that tariffs for CASCO have stabilized lately in the market – there are no more dumping companies.

Moldcargo chief specialist Constantin Ivanciucov said the fraud problem is acute though, for example, when cars get insured in several companies at once and then “disappear” or “get burned”. Insurers find it necessary to establish a single insurers base that would enable to reduce the cases of possible fraud in respect of the insurance companies.

It was also suggested organizing informal meetings of average commissioners to exchange information and experience of fighting fraud. In opinion of the “round table” participants, it is also necessary to toughen insurance agents’ responsibility for registering policies post factum and for issuing the unpaid or partially paid for insurance policies, in particular, “Green Card” – when the policy issued for a year is paid at the price of the 15-day policy. According to Euroasig Grup Director Ion Lacatus, each send “green card” in Italy is false.
