OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2011. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Republic of Kalmykia (Kalmykia OFAS Russia) found that “RusLine” Airlines” CJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The Airlines can be fined from 1% to 15% of its income in the previous year, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a complaint from a physical person. The Commission of Kalmykia OFAS Russia found that in 2010 expenses for flights on the Moscow – Elista – Moscow route increased on average by 6% in comparison with 2008-2009, while the air fares for the economy class increased on average by а 25%.

Investigating the case, the Commission of Kalmykia OFAS Russia revealed that the “RusLine” Airlines” fixed quotas for the flights: increased the number of expensive tickets and decreased the offer of cheaper tickets. The Airlines unreasonably fixed different rates for the commission services of legal entities.

“The Commission found that “RusLine” Airlines” violated the antimonopoly law by fixing and maintaining unreasonably high prices for passenger air transportation on the Moscow – Elista – Moscow route”, said the Head of Kalmykia OFAS Russia, Ms. Mantsa Sangadzhieva.
