Vostochny Port Cargo Volume Is up 19% in January, 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2011. Cargo throughput of Vostochny Port in January 2011 grew by 19% compared to January 2010, to 1,227,800 tons, the company's press service said.
In the reporting period VP's Universal Transshipment Facility handled 172,800 tons of cargo of different nomenclature, 48% more than a year earlier. Coal exports handled by Specialized Coal Terminal rose by 15% to 1,550 tons.
Vostochny Port JSC is the largest stevedore company in the Russia’s Far East operating at the port of Vostochny. The company specializes in transshipment of coal using the conveyor equipment. Vostochny Port’s assets include Specialized Coal Terminal and Universal Production and Transshipment Facility (PPK-1) that enable exports of general and bulk cargoes (coal, coke, clinker, iron ore, timber, etc.). Vostochny Port also handles metals, pulp, aluminum, chemical, long-sized and heavy cargo. Last year, the company’s cargo throughput rose 1% from 2009’s figures to 14 mln 700.3 ths tons.
