Jizzakh Region Gross Regional Product Grew by 10,2% in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2011. The meeting at Jizzakh regional administration was devoted to the region’s socioeconomic development in 2010 and major priorities for economic development in 2011
Last year, Jizzakh region’s gross regional product grew by 10.2%, industrial production by 19.3%, agricultural production by 6.1%, building works by 13.2%, retail trade turnover by 23.8% and paid services by 18.1%.
The foreign trade turnover of the region amounted to USD 228.2 million. Local enterprises exported goods worth USD 81.7 million. The share of small business and private entrepreneurship in the region’s GRP made up 77.3%.
The enterprises included in the localization program issued products worth UZS 33.9 billion. Products for USD 2.1 million were sold at the foreign markets.
474,900 square meters of new housing was built and commissioned in the region last year. In particular, 325 houses were built in rural areas. Water pipes with length of 319.3 kilometers and gas pipeline with length of 57.6 kilometers were laid.
Over 43,500 jobs were created in accordance with the territorial employment program.
The meeting participants set concrete tasks to put new businesses into operation, implement long-term projects, develop small and private entrepreneurship and eliminate existing shortcomings.
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan U.Rozikulov participated in the meeting of Jizzakh regional administration.
