Aeroflot Starts Operating A320 Aircraft Named V. Glushko
OREANDA-NEWS. February 03, 2011. JSC ‘Aeroflot - Russian Airlines’ obtained the 36th A320 aircraft manufactured by Airbus. The aircraft is named after Valentin Glushko, a famous Russian engineer, renowned Soviet researcher in aerospace technologies, and a pioneer in construction of liquid-fuel rocket engines, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
Currently the airline’s fleet includes 69 aircraft of the А319/320/321 family; their average age is 3.6 years.
The aircraft was obtained as part of the operating lease agreement concluded in 2008 with BOC Aviation (Ireland) Limited.
All the air vessels were delivered directly from the manufacturing plant. The aircraft two-compartment cabins can accommodate 116 (А319), 140 (А320), or 170 (А321) passengers. Aeroflot operates A320 airbuses in its network of routes in Russia and Europe. Aeroflot is among the world leaders in operation reliability and the actual number of flight hours per aircraft.
The A320 aircraft, one of the best vessels intended for medium-range flights, complies with all the requirements for safety, reliability, and comfort.
