Azerbaijan Issued Corruption Fight Orders
OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2011. The Collegiate Organ of the Ministry of Finance has considered the results of activities in 2010 and plans for 2011.
The MoF informs that finance minister Samir Sharifov stated of the necessity of preventive measures aimed to fight the bureaucracy, corruption and abuse of position. In this regard, specific orders were given to the State Financial Control Department, the Department of State Supervision on Circulation of Precious Metals & Stones, the State Insurance Supervision Service, the State Treasury Agency, the Tax Policy & Revenue Department and the Accounting Policy Department.
The minister has set a goal to increase in the Finance Ministry the efficiency of combating corruption and violations related to the consideration of citizens’ appeals. At that, groundless inspection of economic entities should be stopped, and other checks should be carried out strictly in compliance with law.
"In accordance with a presidential decree, all checks should be conducted on the basis of a pre-approved plan. Participation of representatives of executive power in checks should be provided. At that, there should be ensured timely responses to requests from the holders of licenses issued by the MoF branches and provided their rights envisaged by law," Sharifov said.
Besides, there will be provided control over the implementation of the Action Plan for 2011, passed within the National Strategy on increasing transparency and combating corruption, improvement of the staff’s methods of working with citizens, and expansion of public "hot lines".
