Citadele Demonstrated Stable Activity in First Half, 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2011. “First half year of Citadele Bank’s activity is characterized by stability and development. Clients trust Citadele and the number of new clients is ever growing,” says Juris Jakobsons, Citadele’s Chairman of the Board, reported the press-centre of Citadele.
“Citadele’s deposit portfolio is stable with a tendency to grow: since Citadele started operating in August 2010, our client deposit portfolio has increased by 5.7% or 52.8 million Lats, regardless of the fact that deposit rates have decreased in the market and in Citadele as well. From August to December 2010, over 6’000 new clients chose Citadele Bank. This shows that clients trust Citadele,” points out J.Jakobsons.
Presently, the total amount of client deposits in Citadele is 981.5 million Lats.
Individual persons, small and medium enterprises in Latvia and Estonia as well as clients in private capital management sector have been the ones to choose services of Citadele most actively. From August to December 2010, Citadele has attracted more than 4’900 new clients in individual and small and medium enterprise segment in Latvia and more than 350 new clients in Estonia. In private capital management sector, on its part, Citadele attracted more than 600 new clients last year in period from August to December.
“Citadele’s advantages lie in highly professional personnel with extensive experience in finance, a varied range of services and high quality. For individual persons, Citadele is interesting with beneficial and convenient services for performing daily payments and developing accruals; for small and medium enterprises – with a wide range of financing and loan products for carrying out everyday financial operations and ensuring company’s development. But in private capital management system we are leaders in profitability in 2nd and 3rd level pension plans and we also provide high quality services to private banker clients,” explains J. Jakobsons.
Regarding types of services, Citadele’s new clients selected Maxi account most frequently, which simultaneously enables to make money deposits and use the accrued funds at any time. From August to December 2010, new clients chose this service by 97% more frequently than in this period 2009. The second most demanded service among new clients was Maxi salary card, which provides an opportunity of paying for utilities at Citadele’s ATMs without commission, receiving back 0.5 percent from the sum of purchases made during the month of account as well as other advantages. From August to December 2010, new clients of Citadele chose Maxi salary card by 9% more than in this period 2009.
From August to December 2010, Citadele issued 24’918 new payment cards. Turnover in American Express credit cards per one client per month increased as well: the turnover in American Express Gold credit cards increased by 13% and in American Express BLUE – by 16%.
