Ukrzaliznytsia Intends to Purchase 25,000 Railcars by 2014
OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. Ukrzaliznytsia, the state-owned rail transportation monopolist, plans to purchase 25,000 freight railcars by 2014, the company CEO Myhailo Kostiuk told The Komersant newspaper Jan 31.
Millennium Capital considers the news as NEUTRAL for the listed railcar producers, as the orders from Ukrzaliznytsia to KVBZ, MZVM and AZGM will most likely not exceed 7,000 units in the coming years against combined expected capacity of up to 20,000 p.a. The remainder of the railcars (18,000) will be purchased from other non-listed Ukrainian producers. Meanwhile, SVGZ must be the least affected by the moderate demand from Ukrzaliznytsia as its volumes are already booked for 2011 and possibly further.
