Vnesheconombank Held Meeting on Public Private Partnership Projects
OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. A meeting of the Public Private Partnership Center (the PPP Center) of State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ was held in Nizhny Novgorod on January 26-27, 2011. The Nizhny Novgorod region’s Investment Policy Ministry helped to organize the meeting. In the course of the meeting heads of executive authorities of Russian constituent entities, local government, companies participating in the public private partnership market, consulting and engineering companies, investor-companies as well as nongovernmental associations had a chance to share their practical expertise in public private partnership including the experience gained from implementing projects on the principles of public private partnership in transport and social infrastructure, water supply and water drainage infrastructure and household waste treatment.
The meeting’s main goal was a chance to gain practical expertise on developing PPP projects and share experience in working out and implementing PPP projects in the Russian Federation.
In attendance of the meeting were more than 160 participants from 47 regions including high ranking officials from Russian constituent entities, representatives of regional PPP centers, PPP project operator companies, engineering and investment companies, interested domestic and foreign companies.
The Public Private Partnership Center is a structural subdivision of State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’.
The Center’s activity aims to support infrastructure projects of national, regional and municipal significance and improve the quality of authorities’ services on developing infrastructure by way of using PPP instruments.
Vnesheconombank’s PPP Center provides quality services to government authorities and local government of the Russian constituent entities on applying PPP instruments to implement sectoral and regional development strategies and on upgrading these instruments.
