Industrial Production up 7% in Moldova in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. The growth resulted from the increase in production of enterprises of the processing industry – by 8%, extracting industry enterprises - by 5.6%, enterprises from the energy sector – by 1%, InfoMarket was informed at the National Statistics Office.
It influenced the rise in total industrial production volumes by 6.8%, 0.1% and 0.1%, respectively. The biggest growth in 2010 was seen by sugar production - 2.5 times, production of clothes – by 8.9%, tobacco goods – by 30.1%, wine - by 6%, dairy production - by 9.1%, distilled alcoholic drinks - by 11%, shoes – by 16.8%.
Production, processing and canning of meat and meat products rose 4.7%, metallurgic production - 19.2%, suitcases and bags – by 22.2%, pumps, compressors – 1.9 times, medicines - 12%.
At the same time, production of vegetable- and animal origin oils reduced by 13.9%, finished metal work, except machines and equipment – by 19%, rubber and plastic – by 6.7%, glass and glassware – by 4.1%, machines and electrical equipment – by 3.3%, paper and cardboard – by 4.3%.
