Estonian Air Gets 2nd New Aircaft
OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace delivers today the second CRJ900 NextGen regional jet to Estonian Air. The jet starts serving Estonian Air’s regular flights in the beginning of February, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.
The first CRJ900 NextGen aircraft made its first flight on 27 January 2011, on the route Tallinn-Stockholm. According to Mart Lubi, the captain of the inauguration flight of Estonian Air, the first flight went very well. “There was felt some excitement among passengers and quite many people took pictures at the door of the aircraft,” said Lubi.
Altogether Estonian Air ordered three new CRJ900 NextGen aircraft, the third aircraft will be delived in 2012.
The CRJ900 NextGen aircraft has a cabin configuration of 88 seats. The new aircraft is serving Estonian Air’s shorter and high-demand business routes mainly, like Stockholm, Moscow and Brussels. In parallel Estonian Air continues to use Boeing 737-300 and 737-500 aircraft with cabin configuration of 118 and 142 seats.
