OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. Positive changes are taking place in the credit and investment activity of Uzbek banks. The total volume of credits allocated to the real sector of economy made up over 11.5 trillion soums in 2010 and grew by 35% year-on-year.

These figures were cited at the session of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan dedicated to discussion of the results of banking system activity in 2010 and foreground priorities set before the banking system in the program speech of the President Islam Karimov at the government's meeting on 21 January 2011.

In the past 10 years, compared to 2000, the share of long-term credits (for the period of more than three years) climbed from 35% to 75.2% in the total volume of credit portfolio.
