OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2011. The new aircraft, which was recently delivered from Canada, made its first scheduled flight from Tallinn to Stockholm, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

According to Mart Lubi, the Chief Pilot of Estonian Air and the captain of the inauguration flight, the first flight went very well. “There was felt some excitement among passengers and quite many people took pictures at the door of the aircraft,” said Lubi.

The CRJ900 NextGen aircraft has a cabin configuration of 88 seats and the flight distance is above 3000 kilometers. The new aircraft is going to serve Estonian Air’s shorter and high-demand business routes mainly, like Stockholm, Moscow and Brussels. In parallel Estonian Air continues to use Boeing 737-300 and 737-500 aircraft with cabin configuration of 118 and 142 seats.

Altogether Estonian Air will get three new CRJ900 NextGen aircraft.
