Reserve Money Rose by 33% in Azerbaijan in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2011.Over the past year the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) registered growth of extended monetary base by 32.87% year-on-year.
In 2009, its level dropped by 1.13% versus growth by 44.27% over 2008.
The CBA informs that volume of reserve money amounted to AZN 6.5 bn by 1st January 2011 versus AZN 4.907 bn by 1st January 2010.
As of 1st January 2011 monetary base in manats reached AZN 6.397 bn versus AZN 4.86 bn respectively.
At that, if not to take seasonal factors (AZN 5.7 bn) monetary base increased by 31.2% in 2010.
In 2009, monetary base in manats rose by 1.7%. At the same time, if not to take seasonal factors, monetary base increased by 1.1% versus the 2008 index.
As of 1st January 2011 exchange rate was AZN 0.7979 to the US dollar.
