OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2011. President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych met in Davos with Royal Dutch Shell CEO Peter Voser.

At the meeting President Yanukovych stressed that it is time to discuss the partnership between Ukraine and Shell. "I have been following your work in Ukraine for a long time, and I am positive about you finally deciding to start the production of unconventional gas in Ukraine,” Viktor Yanukovych said.

The President noted that he is aware of the resolution of problems that Shell had had with SC Ukragazvydobuvannya and the company’s misunderstandings with the Tax Administration.

"Today, I look forward to your effective steps to begin the exploration of gas, which is on the border of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, and the beginning of extraction," he said, adding that the license issue has already been resolved.
