OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2011.  The Central Bank of Azerbaijan made a decision to withdraw license of Birlikbank OJSC, issued on 30 June 1993 under number 154.

The CBA reports that a reason for the license withdrawal was violations of Articles 16.1.8, 16.1.9 and 16.1.18 of the Law on Banks. For execution of the decision the Bank appointed external administration, which operates at the address: 23, Nobel Avenue.

"As a result, as of 28 January the country is numbering 44 banks, including one bank with governmental stake and 43 commercial banks,” the CBA informed.
