OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2011. According to the decision of the National Energy Regulatory Agency’s Administrative Board, 1,000 cubic meters of gas will cost 4599 leis. The Administrative Board also increased tariffs for gas for population consuming up to 30 cubic meters of gas by 16% and for population consuming over 30 cubic meters – by 13.4%.

The fee for heat and power plants was increased by 15%, for enterprises which don’t depend on the gas distributing network – by 18.6%. Chairman of the Administrative Board of Moldovagaz expressed his dissatisfaction with the new tariffs noting that normative losses and technological consumption weren’t taken into account. According to Moldovagaz, tariffs for natural gas should be increased by 18.9%.

The company wanted 49 million leis of losses to be taken into account with calculation of the tariff, however, the Agency took into account only 32.8 million leis. According to Gusev, the Agency calculated losses basing on the new methodology of calculation of tariffs which became effective recently and, in the company’s opinion, is wrong.

The company has already addressed to the court to cancel the new methodology. According to Gusev, the court decreed to suspend application of the methodology until the final decision is taken and to leave the previous methodology in force. Gusev also said that Gazprom preserves the right to cut gas supplies to the country due to the losses. The new tariffs will become effective after publication in the Monitorul Oficial.
