OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2011. The telecommunications infrastructure of the Production Association Baku Telephone Communications is ready to use a time-based payment system for telephone calls, Deputy Director General of the Association Khankishi Kishiyev told Trend.
He said that the billing system used today used can be adapted to a time-based payment system for telephone calls as that used today in a wireless network standard CDMA. The limited and unlimited tariff packages are already used.
"There is a monthly fee to the amount two manat, which includes 400 minutes of calls in the limited tariff package of CDMA-services. Each additional minute over the limit is paid by subscribers to the amount of 0.01 manat. At present, the ministry appealed to the Tariff Council of the Republic with a proposal to change the tariffs for telecommunication services. The Tariff Board will make a final decision. It will be possible to publish the results on this issue, " Kishiyev said.
Last week Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov said that the republic can determine per-minute billing for subscribers who can refuse from the monthly subscription fee. He said that if a subscriber does not talk over phone to the amount of 2 manat per month, he can pass to per-minute billing.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Iltimas Mammadov said that the proposals, submitted to the Tariff Council, were discussed with operators.
He said that if the tariffs on kinds of services increase from one hand, then, on the other hand, this is compensated by lowering tariffs on other types of services, for example, the rates for international calls.
