OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2011. Belarusian state concern Belgospischeprom and SAN InBev Ukraine have signed a price agreement on supplies of Ukrainian beer to Belarus; import from other suppliers will be possible as soon as similar agreements have been signed, the concern said in a statement.

In 2011, Ukrainian beer import has been suspended until Ukrainian breweries and the concern sign relevant agreements.

Under resolution #1860 of the Belarusian Council of Ministers dated December 21, 2010, import of Ukrainian beer to Belarus would be possible under single-use licenses until December 31, 2012. The licenses will be issued by the Trade Ministry subject to agreement with Belgospischeprom. To get licenses, Ukrainian brewers are supposed to have minimum prices agreed with the concern.

The new rules aim at creating equal conditions for domestic producers and importers and preventing import at prices lower than on the home market.

In January-November 2010, beer import from Ukraine rose 6.7% on the year to 4.3 million decaliters, worth USD 17.086 million, up 8.9%.
