Belarusian Industrial Output Increased 11.3%

Engineering and metalworking companies’ output increased 16.7% on the year in the period to 29.431 trillion rubles. The output of fuel companies shrank 16.1% on the year in January-December to 30.251 trillion rubles.
Chemical and petrochemical companies’ production increased 13.3% to 16.851 trillion rubles, and ferrous metallurgy companies’ output increased 16% to 5.809 trillion rubles. Electrical power companies’ output increased 12.9% on the year to 11.299 trillion rubles.
Construction materials companies’ output increased 9.4% on the year to 6.244 trillion rubles, and woodworking and pulp-and-paper companies’ production amounted to 4.39 trillion rubles, up 14.9% on the year in January-December.
Return on sales amounted to 10.1% in January-November 2010, up from 10% in the first eleven months of 2009.
There were 248 loss-making manufacturers in the period, 12.4% of the total number, with net losses estimated at 580.04 billion rubles, down 26%.
